Hi folks,

When I play a MKV file with a DTS track, I get dropped frames. When I switch to dolby digital, I have NO dropped frames.

I tried different codecs: SAF 4+5, Microsoft DVD/DTV, ac3filter, owlsroost dshowhelper.dll....No solution. When I play the MKV's in graphstdio, playback is perfect!

I attached two logs, one with owlsroost dshowhelper and one with the original one. Playback with the original one is the worst! Massive dropped frames.

So anyone?

Edit:

Solution: Disable jitter correction in ffdshow audio config

Which version of SAF are you running? Looks like 5...

I'd try dropping back down to 4, unless you have a reason to stick to 5.

I have the same problem and I know I had fixed it a few years back. I am now at the point where only one movie plays without audio, but no dropped frames. Everything else is fine.

I just used SAF 4.

I had a problem like this after messing with audio output

What do you have your audio renderer set to in MP config and have you tried to change that to see? Like from your specific device to Defult Sound Device.

have you tried changing inside ffdshow audio to change dts codec from libavcodec to dts ? on my sistem it fixed a problem like yours ;)

    as i wrote here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/715788-post2408.html :)

Changing the codec in FFDshow fixed my frame drops for LIVE TV in AC3.

Also I have a copy of I-Robot in 1080P no matter what I use Windows or Linux OS's I still get drop outs must of been the way it was ripped.

I normally use saf 4. But now I'm on 5 to test. But like I said in the opening post, it doesn't matter which codec I use, I stilll get dropped frames.f1

I use the default one. Also tried the arcsoft renderer, no difference.

Ok, I also tried the MKV's in MPC-HC. And I got also dropped frames at the same spots again. So this must mean it is a codec issue?

AW: MKV + DTS= dropped frames

It's a codec issue or maybe it's a movie issue (wrong encoded?!). Did this happen with many movies?

Actually this would more likely mean it isn't a codec issue since MPC uses its own codecs not your computers default codecs.
