Re: AW: MKV + DTS= dropped frames

It's a codec issue or maybe it's a movie issue (wrong encoded?!). Did this happen with many movies?

It happens with all movies I tested. I didn't remember this happened before with vista.

Ok, I also tried the MKV's in MPC-HC. And I got also dropped frames at the same spots again. So this must mean it is a codec issue?

Actually this would more likely mean it isn't a codec issue since MPC uses its own codecs not your computers default codecs.

I use saf 4 now, but thw codecs used are the same.

AW: MKV + DTS= dropped frames

Did you try VLC Player to play it?

In MPC-HC I changed the renderer from EVR custom to EVR and in MPC-HC I don't get dropped frames anymore. But I still get them in Mediaportal. Is there something wrong with my Mediaportal setup?

    Anyone?

    I found something.
In FFDshow audio settings try to disable Jitter correction.

But no idea what can cause it leave it disabled...

That did the trick! Thank you so much!

    Why is this enabled anyway?

I have a similar problem as-well, I will try to make the same change tonight and report back. Currently I am running a client/server setup and I have tried all sorts of stuff from SSD, to HD to RAMdisk, 100Mbit, Gbit, UNC and more to remove the last bit of drops in the stream. Hopefully this can also do the trick for me ... ! Currently I have very few drops, but still the occasional one causing small disturbances in the picture and sometime audio. In parallel I have looked at signal and TS stream and there is no signal problems (flat at 100%) or TS packages being dropped at all.

Will report my findings to confirm or otherwise.

I see from the changelog you changed this in latest SVN of SAF 5 hoborg, currently I have SAF 4 but I will try to test both to confirm.

I can confirm the fix both in SAF 4 and 5, both with no-stutter/jitter result. Also on a side note I found out that timeshift on Intel SSD is crap ... had to move to normal HD and it is rock stable! On the SSD I get stuttering every 3-5 minutes or so....
