I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction on this one. Basically when I view mkv files through media portal or any other player and the camera pans it has some very slight judder/jitter. I have tried loads of settings but nothing seems to resolve the issue and I'm beginning to think it may be the graphics card but before I go and buy another I thought I better ask some advice.

I have tried the following (the ones I can remember LOL):

Altered the edge enhancement and noise reduction in the Nvidia control panel
Altered many settings within CoreAVC
Tried playing through PowerDVD with POwerDVD's own codec still same
Altered some settings in Haali Splitter (increased Buffer, set Autoload VSFilter to yes)

I have trawled the internet for a possible fix to my problem but I've hit a brick wall.

Has anyone got smooth mkv playback? If so what is your setup with settings?

Are you playing NTSC or PAL encoded videos? Here in the UK if I play an NTSC vid I get a slight judder effect due to my video card outputting at 50hz with the video encoded at 60hz. Of course if you're in the US the opposite would be the case.

Is there anyway to find out from the files themselves?

Yes, right click on the file, choose properties, select summary, then advanced. That should tell you the frames per second.

nothing within the files I'm afraid but they are taken from bluray and hd-dvd discs. I think the 60mhz issue may be the problem.

Am i right in thinking there is no fix for this?
Would this happen with a standalone bluray player then?
