    Hi,

i just encoded a .ts recording to x264 in a mkv container with staxrip. It plays fine in WMP and graphedit. Also in MP when windowd..
If i start MP fullscreen and play the same video, the video starts, but then hangs, sound continous. I can stop the file, and even watch the hanging pcture in the small window down left.

I use the MPC filter from SAF, and the according MPA filter.

In attached logs i started MP, selected the mkv file and played it two times.

    thnx

    Sloty,

I had the same problem. Windows Mediaplayer will detect the codec automatically. In Mediaportal you have to configure the H.264 codec manually.

Open the MP config > Movies > Movie Player and check the H.264 codec. I have ffdshow installed and set it to ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder ... works fine for me.

    Hi,
thnx, but i have it set up using the right codec. And its playing the file fine if i only use mediportal in window mode.
When i start mediaportal fullscreen, i have the above problem :(

btw. i have close to zero cpu usage, so always dxva is jumping in...

When you play the file and get a black screen, you can try to fastforward using the remote control a few seconds.

I had the same problem while playing in full screen, but I had it with all HD files.

Tried that to. To no succes, i can skip the sound forward, but the video is hanging.

Damn pitty, because the file size is great, 580MB compared to 2.1GB...

Found it. Seems exclusive directx is breaking the fullscreen playback of those x264 files.
Works without, and works with EVR (XP + .net3.5), but in both cases with massive tearing, even when vsync is allway on in the ati cc.
