Well... changed CoreCodec colorspace and I'm getting the same results. Tearing.

I'm going nuts with this. As I said I can confirm that this happens with 720p and 1080p material. And I don't think it's a cpu issue.

Motherboard is GA-73PVM-S2H
GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Specification - GA-73PVM-S2H (rev. 1.0)

integrated Nvidia 7100 card
nForce 630i

anybody has any idea?

of course that's one of the first things I checked...

I'm starting to give up... there's tearing on all MKVs. There has to be something somewhere that has to be tweaked or that is different. I've looked at my MP configuration and the only thing I think it's different is that it has 2 post processing filters - AC3 and vobsub. The rest is more or less normal...

I might get an ATI video card. I'm thinking on ATI EAH4350 which is a fanless one with HDMI output with sound over HDMI. Wouldn't that one be fine? It's also quite cheap now...

If it was me I'd buy something a bit faster, less likely to be marginal, more likely to be future proof. I have HD4670, very happy with it. Hoborg runs something a bit slower (?HD4550), you can have a look at the SAF thread. Lots of people seem to prefer nvidia over ati, but i'm still happy with ATI.

I tried to use EVR with no success... (I have the 3.5 framework) when I try to play a movie it returns to mediaportal.

    About the other cards...

I was looking for the ATI EAH4350 because it's a silent one.... the 4550 has a fan... I guess it's not that noisy, isn't it.
And about prefering Nvidia than ATI. I always did, BUT the card giving me all this trouble is an nvidia... and I'm not getting the same brand if this is giving me trouble.

I can get a ATI AH4550 for 45 EUR... I guess this weekend I will get it and see if my problem is solved. In the meantime I'm going to install XBMC to see if I get the same results in VRM9...
