Will do, but need some help first, i'm afraid... Installed MoMPtPlugin 0.2 and VLC on the TV-Server, and activated the Plugin in the configuration. On the N800 i installed MPlayer and MaMpt. So far so good... But I don't know what Port is used by the Plugin. Get the Message "Unable to connect to the Server" on my N800.

Sorry! I will explain this in our project page.

In the Mampt menu there is an option "Network", where you configure the server Ip and port. The port should be 5678, and the ip number is the ip of machine ruinning Tv Engine.

Hi,

We already support mp4v, but we use as audio encoding, mp3. Also, we encapsulated the stream using the ASF container because it work better with maemo mplayer.

Anyway, we can add in next releases the option to mp4v/mp4a using MOV container. Thanks for the suggestion.

That's great to hear. If you couldn't tell, the device support I'm going for is the iPhone...but I'm not sure of the specifics of what types of encoding are required for streaming. I did a little research and found this pretty good article on streaming to the iPhone from MythTV (blasphemy!)...let me know if there's anything I can help with...not much of a coder, but would be more than willing to help with any testing/requirements...etc.

Streaming to iPod touch or iPhone - MythTV

Thanks for the post. We are going to look this tutorial :)

A question: What iphone application do you use to see video streams? I Know that Iphone has a builtin quicktime library, but I dont know what application to use with it.

If you can test if the mompt recorded files (.asf) can be executed in the iphone, it will be good :p

The application that iPhone/iPod Touch uses I beleive is just a native version of Quicktime, which sits behind an app called MobileMusicPlayer.app. I'm pretty sure it just knows to handle (or try) any known file extensions (mp3, mp4, m4v...etc)

I'll let you know what the results of my testing are...

So, had some minutes the last days. I could connect to the server via port 5678, thanks for the info again. I could see the list with tv-channels and the recordings. But i couldn't stream the video. Didn't have time to figure it out :-(

Are there some settings in VLC to make? Just installed it, didn't configure a thing. In the TV-Server Plugin i just saved the path to vlc.

Is the EPG in N800 integrated? Didn't find a button for it. But can have missed it because of the short time i tried.

Hope i can spend some time over the weekend to get into it.
