Hi
when media portal is running and the TV is turned off, then back on:

1. The highlighted item always starts at my plugins, even though say TV was selected before turning off, also even though my plugins is selected is is not shown in the highlight colour (the mini display shows my plugins), pressing up or down on the remote restores the highlight but at the next / previous item on the menu.

2. media portal at the main menu, turn TV off, when turned back on the desktop appears on the TV, no media portal screen (even on the taskbar), cannot access the desktop using the mouse, it's as though mediaportal is transparent on the screen, the only way to kill it is to use the task manager.
This seems to be related to numerous other problems around HDMI, is there a solution to these problems, I have tried changing HDMI ports, the thing is windows media centre (even though it isn't very good) doesn't suffer these problems, and having to reboot the PC every time the TV is turned on is a pain really

logs attached

    Hi

2 things to try, set in MP config\general restart MP on resume (mainly nvidia)

Regarding the Plugin part, what happens if start last active module is enabled.

btw, is the homescreen one that has been edited, or is it the standard one supplied with the skin, pretty sure if it is edited, then you can chose the default start from there when creating new basichome.xml.

Does the same thing happen with Blue3wide.

    Hi

restart on resume doesn't have any effect

The skin is the default blue3wide, the problem with the highlighted selection seems to be a screen redraw, maybe this isn't being done when the display is initialised?

I cannot find any trace of crash in your MP logs. Did you post them after reproducing the issue ?

    Hi

By crash I did not mean an application crash, what happened was that the media portal screen became 'transparent', at this point I could see the desktop, but couldn't access any icons because mediaportal was still on top. The only way I could terminate it was with the task manager, at this point media portal appeared to exit normally (according to the text on the minidisplay) - I have also noticed that sometimes the taskbar disappears completely, only the start button remains, could this be a problem with windows aero - I will try the windows basic desktop in case that improves things.

The issue occurred when the TV was turned off I think the event is here:

    2010-04-12 09:11:06.490222 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Main: OnSizeChanged - Resetting device

I think the task manager exit is here:

    2010-04-12 09:12:40.899622 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Main: Exit requested

Is there a way to get more concise debug information?

I appreciate that this may not be a mediaportal problem, it could be down to Intels dodgy display drivers, however the issues around the HDMI disconnection are media portal problems (in my opinion) as other packages such as MCE, media player, power DVD, and also windows desktop don't suffer.
