I'm sorry, since most probably this question has already been posed, but I don't know how to formulate the problem and if you don't know, how to ask, it's difficult to search, right...

Now, it might seem simple, I just want have more info from the skin, in particular from the EPG:
- more than 4 h in future to see and to choose for recording, always, not sometimes
- more than 10 lines in the program selector, or at last a scroll option.

I don't find a way to change the default settings.

Can please somebody give me a hint?
It took just a day to set the system up and play recorded TV programs on my TV downstairs via LAN, but I don't get this particular problem fixed...

You should be able to just use the remote to scroll to the right farther in time and down or up to scroll different channels.

You can press f7/f8 (next/prev on most remotes) to change the amount of info displayed horizontally in the EPG between one and four hours. Any more than that and it does not really fit on the screen. To access other programs you can just scroll pressing right to get programs further in the future. You can also use the arrows above the guide to change the date or amount of data shown on the guide.

The number of rows shown is down to what is defined in the skin. To change the number of rows you need to change the skin files. Not sure what you are asking about scroll options though? The guide will scroll through all your channels. You can also group channels into groups to cut down the amount of channels in a single list

I don't use remote control (at least, I haven't tried to configure one up to now), but an old PS/2 track pad. I'll see to find the old drivers to activate more advanced options for scrolling. It's really some almost vintage device from Alps, some 10 years old or even older.

In order to clarify the scroll buttons of the skin I was talking about: In the "channel" option, there are arrows at the right bottom to scroll the channels (or better: to switch channel pages), which are missing in the "TV programs" option, where the timeline for the channels is shown. The only arrow buttons therein are for scrolling the date and to expand or compress the timeline between 1h and 4h.

I understand that more than 4h are too much be shown in the timeline in the programs option. However, if I press one channel, the timeline, which is then shown top down cannot be scrolled or "page-switched" either. So how to program recording for a broadcast beyond the depicted time window?

I will further try to see what happens if I use a wheel mouse. Maybe it's really a problem of the track pad I'm using. However, a standard mouse is not really an option for standard use for me, since I don't have a suitable location to place some pad to move the mouse comfortably. That's why I'm using the old track pad. It can be comfortably operated while lying on my laps...

Yes, I already use channel groups restricted to not more than 10 channels per group. That's not a major issue, just a question how to operate the available options most conveniently.

A more interesting problem is, how to access times in the timeline, which are not depicted. Let me give an example. I want to record a broadcast at 22:30. I'm going to leave my home at 16:00, so recording is 8.5h in future. There are more broadcasts inbetween as lines available if I go into "TV programs" and click on the channel in question. The last entry is e.g. the broadcast at 20:15. Changing the date jumps to the next day and expanding the timeline does naturally not help either, since the number of entries even decreases. How do I get access to the broadcast at 22:30? The same applies to days in the future. Broadcasts from 0:00 to about 5:00 (am) are visible the rest is beyond the depicted range. How to access broadcasts for the next days evening?

This is just to explain my real problem in more detail. But maybe it's solved by playing around with my hid devices. I don't know yet and will try tomorrow.

Yep sounds like your trackpad (mediaportal is designed to be used with a remote rather than a mouse to is much easier to use with one)

With a remote (or keyboard) highlighting a program and pressing right will make the guide scroll though programs in the future. I thought scroll bars were shown in guide but not at a pc to check
