I've never had any problems with the movie importer. Today though I added a new batch of movies to my source and it seems unable to get any information. It takes a very long time to go through, at which point all the files show up with a little "i" round icon in the left column and no options for movies in the pull-downs. I tried changing the Data Sources under Importer Settings, moving imdb.com down and themoviedb.org up, but that doesn't solve it. Has anybody ever run into this? Am I missing something obvious here?

Thanks,

My bad, should have provided all that info. Running on Windows XP Pro SP3. Not 100% sure on the MediaPortal version, when I launch the configuration tool it says 1.1.0.0 on the splash screen, but it says 1.0.4.23491 under "Project"in the configuration tool. The MovingPictures version is 0.7.5.681.

I looked through the log files and here's the error that seems to be happening every time:

14-Dec-2009 11:24:12 Debug [ WebGrabber]: Connection retry: URL=http://akas.imdb.com/find?s=tt;q=tt0372784, Status=ConnectFailure. Let me know if there's anything else you need. Thanks again.

Can you please attach your movingpictures.log and mediaportal.log files?

Hey tm8747a,

Are you routing your web requests through a local proxy? Also, can your Internet Explorer get to imdb.com?

OK, problem solved. Here's what happened, in case anybody runs into this problem. The first thing I had tried was accessing one of the links through Firefox and it was working fine. However, since LRFalk01 mentioned IE I figured I'd try it too, although I didn't think it would matter. Sure enough, IE couldn't access anything. I went under Tools > Internet Options > Connections > Lan Settings and noticed that the Proxy server box was checked. No idea why that was the case, I've definitely never used a proxy server and IE used to run fine. So I just unchecked that box and checked the one that says "Automaticall detect settings", that's all it took to get IE working again, and consequently the Movie Importer.

Thanks for your help!
