    Is it possible to remove/delete a movie/tv series episode from within mp2 ?

    Also, how should I handle falsely identified movies ?
    Its not totally clear to me. The wiki doesnt seem to have this info either.

    I have several nearly identical movie genres

    Science Fiction
    Science-Fiction

    and a few others in different languages.
    like

    Action
    Aktion

    Could they be mapped to one genre wording ?
    the genre lanuage used should be the language set in the prefs.

    I implemeted genre stuff on client side, but I remember well, that @henso was hardly working on the server side and might help here.
    I can only remember this location, where the mapping takes place. It seems, that localisation is an open point...

    Hi.
    Is it possible to remove/delete a movie/tv series episode from within mp2 ?
    Yes, with Info button on remote or right mouse click on the movie/episode..

    Also, how should I handle falsely identified movies ?
    Recently there is no way to handle them excerpt for using proper file names and/or metatags and/or .nfo files and re- import the movie / series... MP2 is supporting metatags (same as ID3 tags for music) for videos and also .nfo files for movies and series. For V 2.2 .nfo support for music is planed as well... If you don't want to use .nfo (I strongly recommend to use .nfo) you can add the "tt number" to the file name and the movie also is recognized 100%...

    I'm using MP2 for more than 4 years now and I never have a single failure during import. Not a single episode out of my 40.000++ episodes was false recognized, not a single one! This is possible because I've prepared my movies/series properly. Much less work than to correct the huge media library of a HTPC software over and over again. One time work for preparing the movies will give every time proper importing without any hand work. No matter if I use MP, Kodi, Plex,...

    You really ask me?:eek::D:cool:
    Maybe you don't know that I've written my own because any other tool did not what I liked to have. I've changed the name lately from MKV-Buddy to Media-Buddy as in meantime it can do tons of things on media that is not in a mkv container (even transcode audio)...
    The biggest advantage are the wizards imho... Put in some .ts, mp4, avi,... into a folder. and name them like "tt1234567.avi (ts,...)"
    You can do this with as many videos as you like. Then do a single mouse press in Media_Buddy and the tool remuxes or recodes the video to mkv depending on the file size, quality and bitrate (if wanted by the user) rename them properly to your wanted naming scheme (if wanted by the user), add metatags to the mkv and generate .nfo files for them (if wanted by the user). Additionally it will download and store the matching fanart next to the videos (you got it, if wanted by the user). As told hundreds of videos processed with one mouse click... if something is not as you like (e,.g. you want different fanart for some of your movies) you can correct this later inside Media-Buddy. Movies (and series) prepared with Media-Buddy are imported 100% correct into MP2...
    Link to Media-Buddy is in my signature. The most recent version of Media-Buddy is on the last (or second the last) page of the thread...

    There are other tools to like TinyMediaManger or Ember Mediamanager that will do the job too.

    I just can't seem to find the delete movie option anywhere.
    using WMC skin here.

    Once I hit the info button on my mce remote I get the following choices:

    1) add to playlist
    2) set as watched

    any pointers ?

    The "delete" option is only available when:
    • The media item is on local system
    • The media item is on UNC path
    If it is a server-local media item, and you try to access it from a different client system, then media access happens via a read-only remote filesystem bridge. And because of the read-only, no delete option is offered.

    ugh,..This could potentially be a showstopper for me.
    I see TV recordings suffer from the same limitation also.

    So to me it seems that adding media using the media bridge (local on server) has quite a disadvantage attached to it.

    It looks like UNC is the way to go .. But are there any disadvantages here ?
