Movies looks funny (1 Viewer)

I have just bought some new parts for my HTPC and therefore made a fresh install of everything. It all looks fine except for my movies. Whenever i try to play a movie the picture is full of horizontal lines

When i try to play the file in eg. WMP 10.0 it works just fine.
Under setup i have tried all the codecs listed with the same result, but i believe that, that is also only for mpeg I & II movies and not Mpeg 4 like divx and xvid.

does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be?

Mmhh, it seems you have to turn the monitor 90° clockwise... ;-)

You should try to get the graph (graphedit -> connect to remote graph) in MediaPlayer10 AND in MP and try to find the difference in codec use. In order to do this, open the movie in MediaPlayer10, then run graphedit and connect the graph. Then the same under mediaportal.

I didn't think that Via motherboards (with the Via CPU and videocard builtin) had enough horsepower to drive MediaPortal.

hmm when i try to connect to remote graph, then it shows nothing in the popup windows. and it dosnt help to push refresh. this only happens when i use WMP 10.0

When i use MP it say that i am using my Xvid video codec and MPA Sound Codec

anyway what does this program do anyway?

It is strange what you are displaying, haven't seen that before.

I haven't experienced any lack of power yet. MP runs smoothly except for the problem im currently experiencing

BTW my motherboard is the newest with the 1500MHz C7 cpu onboard. Maybe you were thinking of the old C3 1200MHz

nope it appears in all movies. i havent tried mpeg II movies yet.
but so far it apears in Xvid, divx and in original DVD movies

You may want to go to the setup program (configuration.exe) and check to see if you have any post procesing being performed for either DVD, Movies, or TV sections (click on the plus on the left side for each of these and check the post processing on the right side).

You get the same results for any codec you use?

I have just checked and the postprocessing is diasabled. so it shouldt run any filters at all
