Has anyone else noticed that the displayed movie run time on screen sometimes differs from the run time in the moving pictures config screen? ie "The General" The General (1998) is 2hrs 4 minutes, displays in both Blue Wide and Black Glass as having a run time of 3hrs 57 min. "Caccia alla volpe" is displayed as 1 hr 33 min in the config, but in the skin view it is showing as 3 hrs 18min. Some movies are just a couple minutes different or exactly the same. I would have expected that the run time would be exactly the same on the skin as in the config screen of the plug in.

Anyone else seeing the same thing?

The database movie details runtime is taken from the movie website sources, such as imdb.com, when it scrapes the information on a movie import. But the runtime shown in the skin is obtained from MediaInfo on the actual files you have.

I think that's how it works, and would explain why you have a difference, especially if the movie importer linked multiple files together, such as bonus features, etc. Adjust the MovingPictures configuration 'movie details' tab screen to files via the drop down list to examine the MediaInfo information. This will allow you to verify if possibly MediaInfo obtained the wrong information from the files. I'm sure the developers would be interested in your debug log files then, because those reveal exactly what is going on.

The examples were just single avi files that on a different PC show appropriate run times with the mediainfo application. Can't check for several hours what the mediainfo application gives on my HTPC, but I suspect it may not find the cause because the mediainfo.dll it would be using is in it's own directory, not the dll in media portal directory.

Since it appears that mediainfo.dll gives the wrong run time on my HTPC, which version of the dll should be used? Thinking about it, I probably should just install moving pictures again and the mediainfo.dll will be replaced and see how it goes.

    Thanks RoChess for the info.

hmmm.... well mediainfo 7.27 shows the correct time with the mediainfo application on my htpc. Found that the moving pictures files doesn't have the mediainfo dll file. So it isn't a moving pictures issue. Probably my fault when updating mediainfo dlll in the media portal directory in the past. Don't have time to at present to find out which version works correctly.

I'm using MediaPortal v1.0.2 with MovingPictures v1.0.1:1001 and I've got MediaInfo.dll v0.7.10 in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal" and v0.7.7.6 in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows". Must admit I never pay much attention to the accurancy of it in general usage, but the few times I did, it has been the correct time for me.

The latest MediaInfo.dll version as reported by their SourceForge page is v0.7.27 so I've updated mine, but I doubt I'll see a difference myself.

Have updated both mediainfo.dll to v0.7.27 and have re-imported the movie and the run time in the skin is now correct, thanks.
