Moving Pictures autostart (1 Viewer)

Hello all,

I use MediaPortal as HTPC for my daughter. So I would like to know how to simplify startup - to make MovingPictures automatically started on MP start, and to go into "Cartoons" category - not to spend time for all this click-click.

I searched over the forum but found only https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ed-questions-faq-53790/index3.html#post502045 . Can you tell me a better solution?

The post you linked to lists the only two ways I know of to automatically start in Moving Pictures. As for starting in a specific category this is not currently possible, although it is planned for the next release. An alternative though might be to disable categories and use the parental filter to only show movies for your daughter by default. You loose some functionality turning off categories but you could always use filters (from the F9 context menu) to find stuff instead.

Thanks fforde, but "Autostart plugin" I've downloaded does not contain option for Moving Pictures - maybe it has it in new releases?

For parental filter - thanks for suggestion, I will think it over.

Who can make this mp plugin? or can I edit a file?

I have searched the forums and I found the autostart that doesn't work like I want it to. I boot strait to mp but want to go strait to moving pictures on my kids setup. How can this be accomplished?

Any help would be appreciated.

So what autostart plugin definitely allows to run Moving Pictures? Thanks.

I have merged the two threads with basically the same question.

Autostart plugin can be used to start SOME screens automatically, BUT MovingPictures is not supported.

The option for Resume Last Active Module (under MediaPortal General settings) is the only way I know to auto start MovingPictures.
Activating it will work as follow:
Close MediaPortal WHILE IN MovingPictures, next time you start MediaPortal, MovingPictures will start.

If you frequently close while on another screen, but still need it to start in MovingPictures, then you will have to create some script that will:
1. Modify the mediaportal.xml file to have this entry: <entry name="lastactivemodule">96742</entry>
2. start MediaPortal
