Moving TV Server from one system to another (1 Viewer)

I just wanted to ask quickly, what exactly I have to do, to transfer a TV Server installation from one PC to another. Is it as simple as

• exporting the TvLibrary database
• copying the All Users/ApplicationData folder of TV Server
• installing the TV Server + SVN updates on the new system
• copy back the ApplicationData folder on the new system
• import the database back to TvLibrary

Or am I missing something perhaps?

First thing i would ask, is it going to have same hardware, because if its not, then do not even think of copying the db across, as you will have errors cropping up.

Well, not the same motherboard, CPU and video card, but the DVB-S receiver stays the same. Is the database bound to any other hardware (other than the TV card) too?

If the path that points to the TVcard under device manager changes it will give you issues, you may be able to compensate for it by editing the sql db.
Not sure about other hardware Video\sound having any links to db, but you could be the first to find out

Hm, I see... but is there no "clean" way of doing a backup of the TV Server stuff? I just want to avoid configuring the channel list for the 1000th time

Export your channel list and save it to somewhere safe, then just reimport it on the new setup, similar for recorded TV, would rather use the import option, than relie on the sql db being copied successfully and giving possible errors.

Rest of settings within data folder should migrate successfully.
