MP 1.0 hangs up when entering MyTV (1 Viewer)

Hi, I have a big problem when I entering MyTV the MP hangs up :-(. With MP RC3 I had this problem not, but after the update to RC4 and also after the update to final MP V1.0 hangs. I also installed my Windows complete new and put at first MP V1.0 on it but I have still the problem. It only works if I start my PC (PowerOn) and go direct to MyTV then it works, but if I wait some minutes and enter then to MyTV it hangs. If I disable the automatic TVOn (in the config) then I can enter to MyTV but if I click on the button TVon then I hangs. I can watch complete DVDs and movies on the harddisc, but when I enter MyTv (or TVon button) after this, it hangs also.

I attached the log files. In the log files there are 2 trails, the firt at 28.12.08 11.36:05.343750 hangs the second at
28.12.08 11.50:43.593750 works (after a reset)

You have some errors in your configuration log that suggest you might have a corrupt or bad TV database. You could try stopping TV server, deleting the TV database in the SQL program directory, then restarting TV Server and reconfiguring. Alternatively, uninstall TV Server from control panel and run the MP installer again.

I have the logs on my first comment, but I also attach the new logs with debug (but there are not more new information). With the database is so, that the in the config.log stand something about exception with the database so globaldonkey mentioned that I should delete the MP-Database and create it new. But this doesn't help.

After some tests, I think the MP is not the problem it is the TVServer. MP waits for the TV-Sream and the TV-Server has a problem. If kick my MP with the task-manager and restart it then I have the hang-up immediately. After restart of the PC I have about 1 minute time to go to MyTV before it hangs.

If I want to restart the TVServer after the MP hangs. I could stop the TVServer in the configuration, but I could not start it again the TVServer crashs. I also attached this log files. I hope it will help you.

Is there anything unusual about your internet or network that may be causing this kind of issue, ie proxy setting needed etc, also have you disabled any unwanted services.

Turn off any antivirus software and retest, have seen a couple of reports of AV software interfering with TVServer.

This MediaCenter-PC is a complete new PC and complete new installed after installation of Windows XP SP3 and actication I made an image for easy installation. There are only the following programs installed:
- XP AntiSpy (disabling XP things)
- Zonealarm (Firewall)
- Sconi V2 (remote control)
- PowerDVD 8
- VNC (conneting from my normal PC to the MC-PC)
- and the programms which MediaPortal needs (MP11, DirectX9c, etc.....)

This configuration had worked with RC3 then I updated to RC4 and the problems begins, then I updated to V1.0 and I have sill the same problem.
After this I restored my Windows XP Imaged installed the same programms but install MediaPortal V1.0 on it and have also the problem ????

I have no network problems, I could go to the Internet and also the VNC connection is fine (including the directX frontend).

Hi,
Only thing in log is EPG grabber(epg grabber, does a start where nothing happens in tswriter, after that you try to start tv & tv server crashes), try disabling it & see if the crashes stops.....

it seem to be work , i have tried about 5-6 times in the last hour and it always works.
But what do I do with a MediaCenter-PC without EPG
I have the standard configuration for the EPG, only one checkbox activated, this is EPG grapping while idle with 10 min timeout and 240 min refesh. What I have seen is that the EPG was on for all of the 363 channels, could this a problem ?

Hi,
Well problem now is to solve epg issue, the times you use shouldn't cause it & even if grabbed for all shouldn't either, but you can try to disable for some & see if it helps. On the other site I've now seen many reports like this where epg grabber "dies" & causes crash so wonder if it's a problem in our grabber part or a drivers prob. Will set up & test to see if i can reproduce the issue here..
