Is there a way to get MP to use wmplayer as the core video player? I've been having a problem with video files (MKV, AVI, doesn't matter) not outputting the proper audio. After literately sitting in front of a fresh Windows 7 install, and playing with it for 8 hours, I finally found my solution...
I've played around with ffdshow, k-lite codec pack, coreavc, ac3filter, MPC-HC, windows media player... I've done all sorts of combinations just to get it to work.

Problem #1: Using MPC-HC outputs 5.1 to my receiver..... but it's not true 5.1. It's just a 5-channel stereo. I can unplug any speaker and still have the same audio coming out. No matter what I do, it just outputs 5.1, not DD or DTS.

Solution #1: With Windows 7, all I need is Haali Media Splitter and Windows Media Player. It plays everything I throw at it, AND it outputs DTS and DD correctly from DVD rips, blu-ray rips... it does it all correctly. Center speaker plays center audio, left speaker outputs left channel, etc.

***MAIN PROBLEM: MP wants to use MPC-HT only. I can't figure out how to NOT use MPC-HT and use wmplayer instead.***
How can I resolve this? Please help.

No, not SPDIF. HDMI.

No, it's not ffdshow. I tried running MP without ffdshow installed. It still does the same thing.

I don't understand this.
So I found out that I have to use the MPCVideoDec.ax in order for it to work right. I had MPC-HC installed, but I used the 64bit version exe installation, but it doesn't show up on RadLight as a directshowfilter. So... uninstalled everything. Started fresh..

Haali Media Splitter
MPCVideoDecoder
MediaPortal

Configured H.264 to use MPC. But now MP acts up when I play a video. I click on a file, it takes a while to play the file, finally plays it, but when I stop the file, MP is now huge. It looks like it zoom to a quarter of the screen.

I don't know much about all this stuff, but I have just read that a 32 bit app can only use 32 bit codecs, so MP being a 32 bit app, you need to install MP-HC 32 bit, not 64 bit.

    Hope this helps ...
