MP 1.2.2 Crashes (1 Viewer)

so i go to bed so happy last night that I finally had mp setup and working. tv, 5.1, moving picutres, and mp tv series, all worked.

I come hoe and hadnt changed a thing, not even a reboot, and now it just crashes, constantly on start.

ive tried disabling plugins, and chnaging codecs, and nothing works.

seems so unstable and a waste of time.

as a side note, how do i back up all these hours of work i have put into setting up?

Hi,

There are errors from the TV server side, relatingto graph building. However, I would not have expected these to affect MediaPortal itself.

There are no errors coming from the MediaPortal application. The last lines in the log are

and then it just stops both times.

I wonder if your video database is corrupt, for some reason.

I notice you have analog tuners. MP is not as good with analog tuners, unless they have hardware encoding. What analog tuners do you have, and could you try disabling them and see if this helps.

Well, you've been using it for a little while now, so it must have been working for you. Personally My TV server has not crashed for over a year, and MP very occasionally reports that it has stopped working. To me, MP is one of the most stable pieces of software I have ever seen, but then I use it on computers which only have the OS and MP.

If you want us to spend our free time helping you, comments like this do not encourage us.

I appreciate the feedback, and I was just a little frustrated last night.
The analog tuners would be the collossus and a couple I haven't disabled yet, I will do that tonight.
I was using filebot to rename my TV shows. If i tried to rename a in progres recording, would this corrupt the db? if so, how do i fix?

after all this effort, how do i backup all my settings?

I would like to have other clients running in my house, and I know i can share the TV server. But is it possible to share the same DB? this way I dont have to setup MP TV Series and Moving pictures on every PC.

I am not sure. It would certainly confuse the hell out of it.

All of the settings will be in C:\Program Data\Team MediaPortal. zip the folder and make a backup.

This is possible (do a forum search) but not necessarily advisable. As I understand it, trying to write to the same database from two different clients is likely to cause corruption.

the issue has to be with a plugin, I am watching in debug mode right now with the first option, that does not load plugins.

removed moving pictures, still had error, removed mptv series, fixed.

I cant see anything in the log, let me know what could have went wrong.

Probably a corrupt MPTV database. If you search the forum, there are several posts explaining how to fix this.

i deleted the tvmp series db and uninstalled, reinstalled, all is working again.

I appreciate the help.

now i need to get my other client working, loses the tv server when trying to watch tv, add moving pictures and mptv series.

would like to automate filebot and not record shows already recorded, and name shows correctly so filebot is not needed.

I will post separate threads.
