media portal installer wants to install ms visual c++ 2010.

however, this is already installed on my system. it is the x64 redist package - 10.0.30319. i would have to assume mp installer is checking for the x86 package not realizing i already have the correct x64 package for my system, or maybe my version is < mp requires.

confirmed after mp setup, it has installed the x86 package, same version. i am running a 64bit os. does this seem a bit redundant, or does the x86 package contain other files necessary for mp to function?

MediaPortal is 32bit, so I guess the MS Visual C++ 2010 x86 package is also needed.
Same for codecs.. if you install ffdshow codecs for 64bit systems you can't select them in MediaPortal. You have to install ffdshow in 32bit!

    Hi again pepsimachine15

You need x86 versions of everything (as per our requirements) because MP is 32 bit only.
