MP and dual core CPUs ? (1 Viewer)

I recently put together a HTPC for my parents, based on an AM2 X2 4200+ EE CPU. Thinks are working decently except apparently for some pretty random lock ups for example when clicking TV on/off etc (using 0.2.0.4).

I just want to make sure these are not in any way known problems with dual core CPUs, so i dont waste hours looking for the cause.
