I can't help you with KODI. I'd also add that configuring KODI to work with MP's TV Server is not the "most common setup out there". KODI doesn't natively support TV so be prepared to invest a bit of time getting it working.

I also can't offer any further tips regarding MediaPortal until you answer my question about which version you're using and/or give me more specific information about the problem(s) you're facing.
