My HTPC has been running fairly smoothly but recently it is occasionally crashing (Twice in the past 3 days). Media portal shuts down and pops up the "Media Portal Shut Down Unexpectedly" window. I have attached the logs produced from the troubleshooting window that pops up after it shuts down. I don't know whats causing the crashs any help? My wife and WAF are going to go down if she keeps missing her shows...

Error logs are full of corrupted memory indications.
Maybe it's time to upgrade/increase your PC memory?

OK, Upon your request I tested the memory with Memtest and it came back clean (running about 8 hours). Even though it was fine I still boosted it up with a new 1 gig stick. The same thing has happened.

Also I am not sure if its related but often times, once every couple of nights Media Portal becomes unable to playback any video files. I just get a black screen. Putting the system into hibernate and bringing it out again sometimes fixes the problem and other times a complete shut down and restart is needed. It does not happen while watching something just after finishing a show and then trying to play another one.

Could this be codec related?

I should clarify that I replaced the old memory with a new and different 1 gig stick.
