I've tried the "Stop Playback upon loss of audio playback" option, either checked or unchecked, it crashes. Basically, it looks like this. HTPC >> Receiver >> TV. All connected via HDMI. Using CEC also, so that when the TV switches off, it turns the AMP off. Regardless of whether CEC is on or off, this is still happening. I might also need to point out, that this works fine if I bypass the AMP and plug directly into the TV, it works fine. Switching the TV ON/OFF doesn't break MP and continues to work properly. Now, removing the amp fixes it, still isn't a great solution. As I say, it works perfectly on XBMC. I'll provide more logs later on tonight as I'm at work now, although I have remote access to my HTPC, I probably won't be able to recreate it, if I'm not there. Thanks for your help so far.
