MP crashes with ffdshow in TV (1 Viewer)

Hi Folks,


I have a Problem since I installed the RC1 of MP1.

If I choose the ffdshow codec for TV the Aspect Ratio is not right, so I gone to the Windows-Mode to see if the ffdshow-Icon in the Taskbar appears, there I found only the Icon for the Audio codec. So the Video codec is not been used.
After searching for the same Issue in the MP-Forums I found the Idea to set the DirectShow-Setting for allowing several instances, because the TV-Mode loads more than one Instance of ffdshow. After I made this Setting and start TV in MP it crashes.

Pleas help me ...

i have tried FFDshow a couple of times and i was never happy with the results.
allowing multiple instances in not a good idea, because that will increase the possibility of crashes (only a few codecs support multiple instances)

i would suggest that you try resetting the ffdshow config options to default, or use the codecs which come with MediaPortal (MPV/MPA) or an commecrial codec like PowerDVD or WinDVD.



regarding filmerit, look again at Paranoid Delusion's post, thats in his signature and not related to your thread.
its a tool to check your PC for "codec mess" and clean that up.

I tried out the cyberlink codec and it runs fantastic, but in the tv-guide and on the tv-menu the picture is flickering.

I searched for that topic, but didn't found anything.

any solution?

Any chance you have an ATI integrated gfx? Do you have HW acc on in PDVD codecs?

I used to have this problem with the combination above. HW acc with another gfx card worked, and turning it off worked for my X1250 gfx.

I believe this is in the DirectShow section of MP config. Select the PDVD 7 codec and there should be some settings for HW acc.
