Hi Folks
...hoping someone can take a look at the attached logs!

MP hangs on the splashscreen at the 'initialising input devices ' stage.

I'm afraid that I've recently used Spybot (which is terrific!) to clean up some of my start programs.
Unfortunately...I used my 'intuition' (Ha Ha!!) to make the changes...and most likely have stopped something essential!!

I promise NOT to do it again......:(

System: Asus P8Z68-VLX, i3 2120 Proc, Windows Ult (64)

Ok Kev - nothing [zero bytes] in error log - for all MediaPortal logs [5], nothing I see in TV server Error log [not 100% happy with webepg]. Media{Portal log has no smoking gun I can see, Apps event log shows TV server starting OK, MySQL errors noted, but these same 3 errors reported from 19th or earlier [didn't go much further back in log] so unlikely an issue, and I see sod all other info to give me hint in any other logs.

Unless anyone else can make a more +ve suggestions based on logs, I suggest:

    1) Make backup of c:/ProgramData/Team MediaPortal/MediaPortal [so you loose nothing]
    2) Turn OFF all plugins & revert to Default skin.
    3) Retry MePo.

    4) Assuming above works - revert to skin your using, retry & repeat for all plugins until you find problem and then repost - lots of helpful bods here:)

    5) Assuming above fails, reinstall 1.4, check it works.
    6) Reinstall plugins & skin, check it works.
    7) Update config to so your back to where you were [at this point, you still have no current DB's for plugins & thumbs ], check it works.
    8) Copy [and really copy, not move, just in case] relevant database files & thumbs into c:/ProgramData/Team MediaPortal/MediaPortal from backups, re-run config and check it's happy, then re-run MePo.

If at this point it still don't work - suspect spybot has diddled where it shouldn't [unlikely - not at all a bad program, but stuff happens] and a OS reinstall is your best bet [sorry BUT keep the backup safe - really can save you a hell of lot of time].

Above [other than OS install] sounds like a lot of work, but it's not as bad as it sounds, and hopefully, you'll solve problem early in cycle.

    TTFN - JCMP.

PS - above assumes you have some understanding of MePo setup & file structure, which seems likely from your previous posting.

Many thanks for the swift reply.....much appreciated!!

    c:/ProgramData/Team MediaPortal/MediaPortal

....pathetic though this surely is...I cannot find this folder!
There's no folder on the C drive called ProgramData.....am I being too 'literal' here?
Struggling at what would appear to be the simplest of levels....

Ah - forgot to cover the 'this is hidden by Wndows' bit.

Open 'My Computer' then cick on C drive, so your in Explorer.

Top left - you have 'organise' - click and then select 'Folder & Search Options' from drop down.

Open 'View' tab - you'll see radio buttons for 'Don't show hidden file' & 'Show hidden files' - select Show and then apply.

You should now see c:/ProgramData as folder in Explorer.

    Cheers - J.

As it happens...I've moved from Win7 to a clean install if Win8pro...so this thread is going to die for now!!
Unfortunately, I'm having problems getting into MP TVserver config...can't get past the SQL selection bit
....but I'll try a new thread over on 'Insatallation, Config Support'

    Thanks again...especially to JimCatMP....!
