Hi!, I'm new to MP so I'll try to be as descriptive with my problem as I can. I recently built an alcheapo MediaBox with (as you can see in my specs) the cheapest parts at the time and I've got a clean Vista Home Premium Installation with the latest updates. The only other thing I've installed is the K-Lite codec pack but I don't believe I use any of their codecs with MP.

My problem is that when viewing Live TV, my MP will crash within an hour usually. I then get the Vista "Your program has stopped working" message then the MP Debugger is launched. But one time i just got booted out of the MYTV menu and so I figured it's to do with the TV Server somehow. Now I've tried reading the logs but there are just so many of them and I couldn't find any documentation on which logs actually log what&where so I'm hoping somone here might be able to point me in the right direction or at least tell me what caused my MP to crash.

I got referred to this program from a friend and he has no problems with his (but then again he isn't using a dirt cheap TV Tuner >.>)

Any help is much appreciated! :D

I use 2 DVT1000S in windows xp SP3 without much problem.
I do seem to have a random problem if I leave live TV running when I use PDVD8 and channel changing
I had a Nvidia7100 I think and it didnt like HD much
but since upgrading to an ATI3200 (on board) I havent had any problems

Ok, it seems it's not a TV Server problem. I seem to be able to record alright. From the TVServer Configuration Manual as well as inside MP. I'll just close this thread and start a new one in the other forum after I do some more testing.

I might take your advice canarygsr and rip out that video card and see if i can get it to behave with just the onboard video.

On a side note, even if I can get the tv to record, when I'm watching the recorded TV in Fullscreen in MP, i still get booted off to the Windows Desktop every so often. I'll then have to click on the MP icon on my Windows Taskbar to restore MP and then resume the recorded video from where it last stopped. What could possibly make MP do that?

Iwas having random problems with myTV, reading the forum I found out to turn off the epg grabbing while idle which was locking up my tv card, but I was still getting MP crashes, I ended up turning off watchdog (mp config/general/watchdog ) and haven't had any problems since (2 days and counting) may or may not help you out but there you go ;)
best of luck.
