MP crashing when config Picture DB... (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,

I'm running on windows 8 x64 machine and decided to try and import my pictures to Media Portal. Currently on 1.4 using the MP stream skin that is up to date. My pictures are on a network drive. I launch the MP configuration and start the picture DB update and after a while it reports that media portal crashes and needs to close. None of my pictures are in MP and thus I am stuck.

Hi,

your picture database seems to be corrupt. Pls.

1. Make a copy from the database and delete the original file.
2. Try to import the pictures again.

Thanks. Resetting it did the trick.

OK I spoke too soon. I tried viewing a picture and it crashed again. Deleted the database and am trying to rebuild again. Any thing in this new folder that says why it keeps getting damaged?

The exception in the error log says the system ran out of memory. How many pictures do you have? Could you try importing them in smaller chunks?

Hi mm, this error is known problem in old versions of MP, there is no help about it.
Can't remember if this is all fixed in 1.5.0 final or 1.6 pre (with Pictures thumbs rework), but in older versions it's just like that.
