    Description
This just started today on my Client/Server in the living room. I don't know if it is a hardware problem or MP.

I have 2 programs being recorded on TV Server, and I try to start playing a previously recorded show in Recorded TV. MP becomes unresponsive as the drive light remains on, then after a short time the standard error message pops up wanting to close MP. The programs being recorded seem to be unaffected (I'll see when they are done recording) and TV Server continues without fault. I even changed codecs to see if the issue still occurred. I was able to play Live TV during the recording.

All 4 of my tuners record to the same HDD.

I had no problem playing the recorded program on another client.

I'm puzzled. I hope someone can see if there is a problem.

    Steps to Reproduce:
MP failed the same way each time I tried to play a recorded program.

Only the one recorded program caused the fault. other recently recorded, even the 4 programs recorded after played without issue... seems it is only one defective recording.

    Hi Chuck

Never knew you were such a fan of American Idol ;)

Logs do not say anything, they just stop, if you change the file extension to mpg and play via video's on the same client, using same codecs does it work, if it does, then by the sound of it, tsreader may well be the problem here, are you using any of Owlsroost modified versions.

    Hi Ray, thanks for looking,

 I wait until AI gets to the REAL competition ... after the top 20 are selected. There are few variety shows that the Wife and I can enjoy together.

only using the original 1.2.2 tsreader.

I had even cut the first minute off of the show in VideoRedo and re-saved it as a .ts to my Recorded TV folder ... still killed MP. It worked on the second client.

Changing to .mpg and trying in MyVideos also killed MP ... on both my clients.

Trans-coding the same .ts file to .mkv in Handbreak worked in MyVideos with no issue.

    just crazy ....

The only thing that could be different is graphics driver not handling video, are they different gpu's\drivers.

Please upload the cut .ts sample to FTP. Sounds like TsReader issue.

I would ... but, the wife deleted the episode in RecordedTV when she finished watching the trans-coded version in videos.

I still think it is more likely a corrupted file, as there has been no other issue with more recently recorded programs. ... but now we will have to wait for a repeat of the issue.

    Thank you,

    Chuck
