Hi !

Since MP 1.1. RC1 Mediaportal won´t start the external player anymore. I have this configured in mediaportal.xml:

Code:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Zoom Player\zplayer.exe"

no

Yet, when starting a movie from within the video library or Moving Pictures, MP will first kind of freeze for a few minutes and then display a

"Unable to play" message.

This happens with various movies.

The log says this:

2010-03-21 11:02:55.165092 [Warn.][MPMain(1)]: Util: External player "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zoom Player\zplayer.exe" does not exists

However, I have confirmed numerous times that the application exists and works at this location.
I have also tried with another application.

Please find the log and my mediaportal.xml attached.
Can you please help ?

Thanks !

No idea if this will help (I'm a noob), but try specifying the path without the double quotes.

I've noticed that even paths with embedded spaces MUST be specified without double quotes.

(It is unfortunate that the configuration GUI doesn't enforce this (lets you specify double quotes without complaint only to fail silently later).
At least you should get an error; ideally, input should be accepted in both quoted and unquoted form.)

You're welcome; glad to hear it solved the problem.

Feel free to use the 'THANKS!' button to formally thank me. :) I have no idea what thanking someone this way does (other than the number of thank-yous showing up in the user information next to each post), but it can't hurt.
