MP freezing during dvd playback (1 Viewer)

Hoborg: the problem lies in the VOB-file, not in MP/decoder, have I understood you correctly? And should i make MKV instead of ISO when I buy a DVD to make sure this problem doesn't occur again?

If you rip your DVD correctly, then there is no need to mux it in to MKV.
Check PM.

Update:
Ripped my DVD as instructed per PM. It still made MP freeze when I hadn't muxed it to MKV. Uninstalled SAF and installed K-lite. Movie seems to play fine. Will test some more during the weekend.

Well, I'm back at square one as I tried watching Gran Torino tonight and MP froze. This is getting frustrating.
