Silly question - but have you all got MediaportalStandbyTool installed and running? Resume from standby / hibernate / wake up to record programs etc. fail to work on my machine without this plugin.

    Hi,

i don't use the standby tool and don't need it because everything works flawless e.g. going to hibernate, waking up, recording anything etc. the only thing is that after wakeup MP is black. So for a little experiment I just programmed my mce remote, using it with hip, to switch windows. Then started MP and opened an explorer window, put my compi to hibernate and woke it up using my remote... again the black screen, but I tried to switch screens with my remote and there it was, my Explorer window from before, over the black screen and I could even switch the items with the up and down buttons in it!

So windows seems to be responding only MP hanging with a black screen?!

Furthermore I have to say that I found out that pressing any button my keyboard makes the black screen dissappear and mp starts or goes on starting, but pushing any button on my mce remote doesn't do anything the screen stays black :( So I'm just getting back to my script after these experiments.

Maybe that helps as logs doesn't seem to recognise anything worthy?

    Regards

Here's my test scenario with logs attached.

    Steps:

    1. Start MP through logs collector

    2. Schedule three recordings, system should go in suspend between every scheduled recording

    3. Go back to Home Screen and wait for 5 minutes, system goes to suspend

    4. System automatically wakes up for 1st scheduled recording, but screen remains black. 1st recording succeeds and system goes back to suspend.

    5. System doesn't wake up automatically for 2nd recording, so I wake up the system manually. Screen remains black and I can't get MP up & running because it is in "Not responding" state.

    6. In the background TV-Server process is running fine, because 2nd recording is now running.

    7. I kill MP from the Task Manager

EDIT: Will post logs with debug level enabled soon

    Finally, logs!

Finally, I have reproduced the issue! I scheduled a recording; after that the system went into standby after 10 minutes. The system came out of standby, recorded the program succesfully and went into standby again. After a while I took the system out of standby by pressing the powerbutton on my HTPC. It came out of standby, showed the mediaportal screen, what was still on a time passed a while ago. No response with keyboard (only ALT-TAB) or remote. Taskmanager was needed to close MP and while logcollector was creating the logfile, the system went into stanby againg. After getting it out of standby with the power button, the logcollector finished it's job.

This issue has been troubeling me since RC4. From what I can recall, RC3 was fine.

ATTENTION EVERYONE who used Configuration.zip (Configuration.exe) posted to this thread to enable S3Hack!

It adds incorrect settings to config:

yes

BUT THE CORRECT ONE IS (case sensitive!):

yes

After I added manually the correct one to configuration, resume started working correctly!

Thanks for noticing this one, seco. Chemellis configuration.exe is using correct case. Thanks chemelli. Update is in SVN.

Edit: Just to clarify: The Configuration.exe i posted on page 2 will have no real effect, because of the typo. Everyone with this standby problem is recommended to update.

    Hi,

ich have the same problem. MP 1.0.0.0 is (clean) installed. The automatically resume from standby, the Monitor is black. No remote Input works. If I press windows Key on keyboard, the Start menu opens in front of the Black screen. I can open the taskmanager and kill mediaportal.

I tried also the usbHack. But it doesn't work.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much!
