hilfer, sorry if this seems too harsh but I already requested twice in the previous thread that you must supply log files. How do you want people to spend time helping you if you do not respect our time/rules?

    I understand that part :)
There should still be logs as pointed out by Holzi.

This line does not look right:
    2011-12-24 11:51:30.867187 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Main: MediaPortal v1.2.1.0 is starting up

but also this line is weird for me:
    2011-12-24 11:51:30.851562 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Using alternate configuration file: C:\Users\multimedia\AppData\Local\Temp\MPTemp\MediaPortalTemp.xml
Where does the MediaPortalTemp.xml file come from?

    Yes you are right.

I can see the splash screen for some seconds and the version is: 1.2.1.0 when it should be 1.2.2 !!

Regarding the XML file I really don't know.

    What can I do ??

Make a fresh install ?? start all over again ??

Re: AW: MP not starting after update

ok after upgrading I can see my old splash screen but a message box pops up saying MP is not working windows is looking for a solution.
I can see the splash screen and home screen.MP closes only when I click on the windows error message.
I did a new debug and I got the attached zip file

EDIT: some more details: I can use all functions of MP as I did before (see movies, play music etc... etc..) as long as I dont close the
small window error message. When I click to close that window, MP closes immediate
    E
EDIT 2 : EUREKA : the problem was the web browser plugin.I noticed that crash always started when loading the plugins.
so I tried to disable one by one and just on the second one ( web browser) all went fine.

Hope this can be usefull for others with same problem

Thanks for those who tried to help me with this problem and I whish you all a merry Christmas.
