MP problem with different input selection on AV Receiver (1 Viewer)

When watching TV or Video MP is always messed up and can only be kill to get it back to work when i for example switch to a different input on my Onkyo AV receiver or if i open the AV Receiver menu ...

My setup is like this:
- HTPC with MP is connected to my Onkyo TX-SR 806 via HDMI
- Onkyo TX-SR 806 is connected to my Phillips TV via HDMI
- Hard- and software specs of my HTPC in my forum profile

Attached are the clean MP debug logs.
Log action:
- start MP
- start a movie
- switch to another input on the AV receiver.



My guess is that MP receives something like a screen resolution change event when the AV receiver uses for example another input then the one via HDMI from the HTPC.
This seems to cause big troubles for MP when watching TV or a movie.
The problem does not exist if MP is showing a menu.

I think this is a bug, it should not happen.

ich habe gerade eine ähnliche Frage gestellt. Ich denke dein Problem lässt sich nur durch den Gefen HDMI Detective Plus umgehen.

Das ist ein kleines Kästchen dass deinem HTPC weiter die Receiver Edid bereitstellt während dein Receiver eigentlich aus ist bzw. kein Signal an den HTPC gesendet wird...
Allerdings kostet das Ding knapp 130€.

Hi,

to be fair with other users we should write postings in english.
Anyway, i know about the Gefen products, but this would only be a work around and no solution.

I hope someone of the devs can check this.

Well,

you can try to read out your EDID using "Moninfo" and install the created *.inf file as your case lcd. Its a workaround too, but maybe it can help you. The solution changes are a general problem with windows...

I think it is more how MP handles this resolution change event.

So i still guess this can be fix within MP.
