    It doesn't matter if MP recorded the show or it was recorded with My theatre. In fact, it could be a download show and eventually I will still get the same result. Here is just a little bit of my log:

    4/20/2006 7:28:11 AM g_Player.OnStarted() D:\Media\Movies\-=TV SHOWS=-\Divas Do New York (All Day) (04-10) (3am-0).mpg media:Video

    4/20/2006 7:45:56 AM 1 VMR9Helper: playing->repaint 0

    The very last line is what we are looking at here.... repaint 0. Once the video locks up the sound will play for like 2 seconds and then quit. I then hit ! to see what is going on. my FPS are still counting but my VMR is 0.

    I can't believe that I am the only one having this issue. I don't know too much about VMR so that's why I am here.

    I just put on a fresh image of XP SP2 yesterday, thinking that might help my issue… but it is still there.

    If there is anything I need to do, or you want me to test something, just let me know.

    Hi ASiDiE

    How long does the video have to run before it locks up.
    Is there any constant.
    Is it all video formats (Ireally believe you have already answered this, just checking).
    Have run a few bits of video for maybe 15mins apiece and had no problem.
    At the moment running RC4 no svn.

    It's totally random as to when it locks up.... Like the video my wife was playing this morning locked up at about 23 min... but I have played it several times today and no lockups. I have been working with my codec's today. This might have helped because I have not seen a lockup sense. I have been playing video after video to see if I could get it to lock up but still nothing... I guess this is a good sign! It almost seems like it has to be computer related because nobody else seems to be getting this.

    i have a similar sort of issue - where my wife recorded a program then went to watch - was ok then tried to skip an advert and then it locked up on her - but the difference is the time keeps on counting on but no audio or video. we can go back to the start then it starts playing again, and if we watch the yucky adverts the video plays fine - only seems to happen on some tv shows, have found it on different tv channels. so not sure what the story is.

    has anyone see this before ? i checked mantis and couldnt see a similar sort of issue, so if you want me to do the support thingy just let me know

    cheers

    Same here, I have no error in the lg, the video locks up after random time with no error message whatsoever. I can kill the MP task in the taskmanager blindly, then restart and continue.

    I change the codex within MP to mpeg2dec but when I went back in after the crash it still said Nvidia. So I don't know....
