MP Resizing (1 Viewer)

I currently have a onkyo TX-SR308, if that makes a difference. When the receiver turns off or switches inputs MP reduces in size to about a quarter of the screen. When i come back to the htpc i cannot use the remote to move nor can i maximize MP. It seems to think it is still maximized. I then have to close and reopen. I have disable all HDMI settings in the reciever itself and still have this issue. Any suggestions?

Having just switched from a CRT and using S-VHS to HDMI I am experiencing the same issue. This appears to be a problem with Windows 7 and HDMI handshaking. My understanding from a quick read is that when the HDMI device is off (receiver or TV) Windows does not know its resolution so defaults to the lowest.

but I haven't had time yet to try any of the potential solutions. I think it may make a difference what order you turn things on and to ensure that they have fully started (e.g. a receiver or TV sometimes has a start sequence that takes a few seconds).

I understand from reading Windows XP did not have these issues. That's progress????
