MP Start-up Times (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I have been using MP for a while, for music and DVD playback only on a simple VIA EPAI machine.

MP is absolutelly great and really easy to use, however, I just wondeded if anybody could provide a few pointers on speeding up the start times? It currently takes over a minute to start up, which seems a fair amount of time given that I do not currently use most of the featuesd (TV, Radio, etc...).

Does anybody know how I can speed up the load times?

Maybe its just my PC.

What are typical load times for Media Player?

and dont close MP at all when you want to turn off your computer, hibernate it without exit MP.
in this case you dont need to start it again.

or use Suspend (S3 mode) which is even quicker then Hibernate at starting.

You can try removing any plugins you don't use. I have one copy on my regular PC that I tend to play with, adding and removing bits more frequently and one on my TV box that I try to leave alone a bit more (also a faster PC). the one on my regular PC will often take a long time to startup and I sometimes uninstall/reinstall to make it a bit faster, I think it can get a bit clogged sometimes. over a minute is a long time although I have seen that also but it only takes probably 4-6 seconds on my TV.
