    I don't think that helps!!!
    As i said i have the same problem, and iøm runnign vista... So i think that's waste of time...

    Please provide logs so that we can se what happens. As it definately should work with Vista (with help from GPU virtualization).

    tourettes: i don't understand how to use the registry hack! Would you PLEASE help me? I just want to use ONE LCD at my DVI interface! which is the right registry entry for my problem/solution?

    When i use win vista: is the gpu virtualization automatically activated?

    Forcing detection of to digital outputs is correct choise for one DVI interface. So basicly you need to create a new registry key, under Nvidia's folder in registry:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{XXXXXXX-XXXXX}\000]

    type = binary word
    name = DevicesConnected
    value = 00 00 03 00

    {XXXXXXX-XXXXX} is unique to your system, easiest way to find it is to check for a folder where are a lot of game titles listed (_<gamenames>)...

    When i use win vista: is the gpu virtualization automatically activated?

    Yes, it should. Its available for all applications that use DirectX 9Ex, like MediaPortal is using (after RC3). To test it do following

    1) start MediaPortal in windowed mode
    2) start video playback
    3) change refresh rate or resolution

    As result the video playback shouldn't stop. Also MediaPortal.log should tell if DirectX 9Ex is used when starting up (if I remember correctly).

    Thanks a lot, but it doesnt works!!
    I created...
    type = binary word
    name = DevicesConnected
    value = 00 00 03 00

    at the following path: (please take a look at the screenshot)

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{4FF9A1F3-B06C-4EE5-AD0B-5934D17A9A96}\0000

    But Problem is still the same. The musik stops when i change the chanel on my tv or when switch off.

    Tomorrow i'll install Vista business....:(

    Hi Folks,

    I have the exact same problem with music (and radio) and *not* with tv (video not tested yet).
    As I have also a NVidia card I tried the registry hack with no success. The setting made it only worse and switching off and on again the TV set then resulted in a permanently black screen. I had to reboot the macine to have a picture again :(
    After executing the nvidia multiscreen wizard it did not work either and inspecting the registry revealed a value of 0x01000000 in the described regkey. I decided to set this to 00000000 and after a reboot I now have the state as before. At least I may now turn of the tv set when not at home and have the pc running.
    The question which is lft to me is: When this is a directx issue, why does it not occure when watching live tv (sound stays playing when switching tv off)?

    @Becki012: Have you tried to set the registry value to 00 00 00 00 and then reboot. Just removing the key had no success on my system. Hopefully this sets teverything to automatic detection.
    The double wallpaper is relly weired :(
