MP stutters for an hour when first started then stops stuttering (1 Viewer)

As the title suggests, the stuttering goes away after an hour or so. It never did this with v1.0. I have checked my system and the cpu is almost idle, the disk drive is not thrashing. I have read the other threads related to this and they seem to describe a subtly different problem.

Any ideas anyone?
