MP Tuns Black after playback (1 Viewer)

Hello.
I got this strange problem. Whenever i play a video of some kind in MP, after i exit from Media Player Classic back to MP the screen turns black. I can hear the sounds from the menu and can select another movie or tv-serie episode in the background but the black screen only dissapear when i restart MP. This happends in all video files including tv-series episodes.

Anyone got a clue what seems to be the problem?

Read about a similar problem, but it seems that was addressed to dvd movies so it didnt help me anything.

Well, i switched to the built-in videoplayer and that works like a charm. Was over a year ago i decided to use MPC as external player in MP and have had that setting as default allways. Seems like the build-in player works very well

I was going to suggest to use the internal player when I read your first post.

Hello

Something similar to this happens to me using the internal player. When the playback stops, the screen turns black and I have to press stop or exit in the remote so I can use the interface.

Can this be solved?

Can give you more information about software and hardware but not the log....I'm not at home.

Hey.

Have you tried using an external player?

Read somewhere that dvd movies could generate this in early versions in MP, but the tips on that bug didnt work for me cause that was codec related. And my problem came like 2 seconds after playback so it was little chance that this was caused by a codec. But try installing PowerDVD which was one way to solve that problem. That might work in your case.

Dont know if it helps you that much if i provide more info about my mashine, but post your machine specs and we can compare them.

Just installed 1.1 and I am also seeing this. I use WinDVD9 as my external player and if I stop a movie that is playing, WinDVD shuts down and the Mediaportal UI is black. Only way to clear it is to blindly navigate to the home screen and exit Mediaportal. Switching over to the internal player and it exists back to the UI as expected.

Edit: I just noticed this in the error log -

Hi.

I have the same problem!

Im using Mp 1.1 and the MPC-decoder is set for both h.264 and MPEG2.

Whenever i watch a Movie(Moving Pictures plugin) or an episode(MP Tv-series plugin) and let it run all the way to the end, the screen goes black and i only hear the sounds from the navigation. However, if I press STOP just before the movie or episode is finished i get returned to the menus as normal with no black screen.

I did not have this problem in MP 1.0.2 but that could be due to the fact that I used FFDshows video decoder instead of the MPC one.

Does anybody have a clue to why I get the blackscreen only if I let the movie or episode finish but not if I press stop before it ends?

I've also the same issue with 1.1.0RC2

I'm using MP only for mkv video file playback with the internal default player and CoreAVC decoder for h.264 playback. I don't get this issue every time but occasionally after every 5th to 10th file. Playback stops and then a black screen for 2-3 minutes than MP jumps back to it's GUI. Today this also happened after pressing "Stop" - first time in this scenario though..
