Hi All,

A week or so back we had a power failure whilst I was watching a movie, ever since then MP hasn't been the same. My main issue is that it will no longer play most of the movies I have (.mkv files), before the power outage these used to play fine in MP v1.5.0.
What is happening is when I click on the movie title I just get this 'bonk' sound and that is it, the movie does not start.
I've tried re-installing MP several times but it's just refusing to play these movies.
They will play fine in MPC_HC so the files are all ok.
I really hope I can get this fixed soon, it's annoying not being able to use MP any more, any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Here is a log.
I attempted to watch two different movies, neither actually ran.

Thanks.

    Thanks

You have something really strange going on:
[2013-10-24 14:45:01,148] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - OnMessage exception:confused:ystem.InvalidCastException: [A]MediaPortal.Dialogs.GUIDialogMenu cannot be cast to MediaPortal.Dialogs.GUIDialogMenu. Looks like you have two versions of Dialogs.dll.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Dialogs.dll
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\windows\Dialogs.dll

Probably the solution is to delete one of these. The question is which one. I'm at work right now so unable to check for you, but if you're feeling adventurous...
    Close MediaPortal.
Take a backup of both DLLs.
    Delete one DLL.
Try to start MediaPortal and play a movie.
If it works, problem solved; if not, put the DLL back and try deleting the other DLL.
If it works, problem solved; if not, I've mis-diagnosed the problem.

    Thank you mm, it was,
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Dialogs.dll

I removed that file and everything is ok.
The search function on here is fantastic so I hope this helps someone else in the future.
I should add, after I had the power failure I got the 'side-by-side' error when MP was attempting to start, perhaps something got messed up when I re-installed after that.
    Thanks again.
