This is a brand new PC so I am still feeling my way around so any help would be very much appreciated.

your log is from the configuration.exe. mediaportal has to be the last executed file to give the right mediaportal.log.

it would be a problem of course if MP would crash BEFORE the log gets erased and rewritten by MP rather than the config...(?)

I don't have a directory called erwin - could this be a developer?

Have I downloaded an incorrect version - I got it from your site yesterday?

just to be sure, you downloaded the RC4 testrelease, and you installed the newest SVN for RC4 correctly??

did you execute the start.bat after copying over the files from the SVN?


weird thing with the erwin directory.... when you have no erwin directory it's weird that MP tries to access it.... and obviously without any success of course...

maybe there went something wrong during the install? maybe you should try a new fresh install of MP RC4 and take a look if it works first and then update to the newest SVN....

SVN (Subversion) is the follower of the old CVS
you'll find them here:

important is to take the ones for RC4 of course... always takr the one top and you're never going down (-;


But again, try first a clean install of RC4 without SVN to check if that works first. don#t forget to uninstall older installations..!

2. Re-installed MP (Same version I downloaded yesterday).

3. Checked Settings - no mention of C:\erwin anywhere!

4. Clicked on MP icon

5. It's WORKING :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

I installed MP 0.2 and everything was ok untill the next time I tried to run it and I got the same error as in the fourth post and it refused to run,
Uninstalled and reinstalled and still the same,

Tried reinstalling XP and it was the exact same - Ran ok the first time then nothing, and I'm pretty sure I'm up to date with updates,

anybody got any ideas this is the first time I've tried MP

Finally Got it installed and working,

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it was just the same,

looked in the team mediaportal installation folder and the appstart log with a ref to erwin was still there, so I unistalled it again then deleted the team mediaportal folder,
I then reinstalled and it's been ok since
