Hi

I have had MP working very well for some time on the above client....until this morning. Now when I start MP it does the normal spashscreen, gets to the end (..skins) and crashes with Watchdog kicking in. Logs are attached. Seems to say something about D3D? Couldn't find anything conclusive on this in the forums.

I've uninstalled MP on the client, re-booted and re-installed from fresh. No change to the problem.

My PC did do a normal XP update this am. Nothing untoward, although the pause between the XP splash and the login screens has become longer. Not sure if this is connected.

Very frustrating! Help pse!

    Hello JMH,

D3D refers to DirectX functions, however, you didn't attach the DirectX logs. Take a look at them to see if there is anything that could point you towards the source of the problem.
One other thing though: In your system event log is one entry about a bad block on the harddisk (D?). You may want to verify if the disk is OK (Checkdisk or similar tool).

Thanks for the reply. You were spot on. I think I must have had a corrupted file. To solve I just installed 1.0.1 - the install loaded a newer DirectX version. I wasn't really ready to go to 1.0.1, but what the heck - at least MP is now working.
