MP will not wake with remote. (1 Viewer)

When I switch my tv over to the hdmi port that my computer is on, it is just a black screen. Pressing buttons on the remote does not wake it up. I have to either vnc into it or plug in a mouse/keyboard and wake it with that.

I have windows set to never sleep or shut off the monitor but I do not know what else to do. Any suggestions?

Don't have your remote but found out (recently would you believe) that the Microsoft MCE Sleep button wakes up MP.
(Which on mine restarts the GUI as well.)

I used to press the power On button on the PC.

On my setup just pressing this key will switch the TV input too - but that is TV functionality, not MP.

Why is it goingto sleep/blanking the display anyway? Does it do it because of something like the Windows power settings etc.?

Check mobo-manual.
1. Make sure BIOS settings are correct ("Wake from USB" or similar).
2. Make sure the USB port used is active/powered during sleep. (Usually this only goes for some ports).
