OK,
after an excruciating investigation, and comparing side by side media info of various video files.
and seeing that 2 files with exact same media info while one works and the other doesn't i understood where
the problem is!
i actully restored my HDD a while ago using "Recover My Files" (after it turned dynamic suddenly after i disconnected it) and most of the files were videos.
and suddenly it hit me, the video files were probably corrupted! and i know that some video players
still play them (like vlc) that's why i was able to view them.
but apparently MP (nor wmp) can't! so that's why it shouted on a codec problem.
if it's possible it would help greatly for the future for MP to know it's corrupted (and not codec) and display
a different error msg.
unfortunately i had to delete all the bad files
thanks for all your help!
