Hi all

Macfox: I have not checked whether there are quotes in the launch path or not.

UPDATE:
I am currently re-writing the plugins to support TVE3.

The new setup will consist of a TV Server plugin for CCXStream that will share out all recording and timeshifting directories on the server and also allow the user to share other directories eliminating the need for other instances of CCXStream on the server.

The second part is a .Net WebServices interface to the TVEngine and its Database.

Third is the Python scripts in XBMC which have been extended to use the WebServices and are being cleaned up in general.

Primary goal is to get the functionality that is in the TVE2 plugin working for TVE3 using the new WebService interface and support for Master and Slave servers. Once this is done I will then start on the Live TV investigation and control interface for it.

I currently have around 1/2 the webservices written and 1/2 the CCXStream plugin written. I can browse recordings from XBMC and need t finish CCXStrem plugin to be able to play them.

Cheers

Chad

Progress update:

I have completed the recordings screen and a TVServer plugin to run CCXstream and share out all the recording directories.

This seems to work fine however I am having a problem with CCXstream or XBMC (not sure which is at fault). Some of the files that are shared out will not play, they appear with the wrong size in the XBMC interface. My question is, Is anyone else having trouble with CCXstream as per screen shot below. I am running most current SVN and have tried the last 3. Possibly someone running an older version can test this for me.

If I can't resolve the issue with CCXStream I will have to look at sharing the directories in another way. My next choice would be using windows file sharing would anyone have issues with SMB or any other suggestions.

Cheers,

Chad

can't test it, sorry, don't have the right setup for a few more weeks :(

But I have no problems with smb, i use it all the time for streaming to the xbox, it's the easiest way!

Good luck, LoL ;)

Hey thechad thanks for working on this!

I only use SMB on my xbox and have only ever done it this way for streaming files over the network.

Chad,

When I go to run the configuration for the plugin I get an unhandled exception error saying

Could not load type 'MediaPortal.Profile.Setting' from assembly 'Core, Version=0.2.2.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

Any ideas?

any update on this.

without either xbmc or the webscheduler, TV server isn't doing much for me!

Looking forward to either being released!

Hi All,

Sorry for not posting I have been on holidays in Indonesia for a few weeks. Hope to get back into things later this week.

Looks like the version for old tv engine will need a recompile which you can do as source is included with download if you need it urgently, I may get around to it early next week.

XBMC to TVServer

Chad, no issues with having to use SMB for playback. I think we have to go with what works and can modify later. PM me if you need help as i have done a bit of this stuff before with the Tivo scripts.
