Can someone explain why we have v0.55b and v0.68 in plain Englisch? Should the last version be the best?

Basically, v0055 is the version currently in the MP main development 'trunk', so this (or maybe v0055b) will be part of MP 1.2.0 Beta when it's released.

The v0056 and later are experimental versions which use the Windows 'Desktop Window Manager' (DWM) (=Aero desktop) in a different way which is *supposed* to provide better playback.

But - as you have found - on some systems v0055/a/b work best, on others (like my Vista system) v0067/v0068 are better.

So just use the version that works best in your system

My MP can't load v55b...

Have you got the 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package' installed ? (follow the link below to download it)

EDIT: Added v0055b dll - filter graph info added to render stats screen. This version requires 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package' to be installed.

Is there a way to identify which version of the DLL I have so I can go back to whichever I found better?

Look at the top of the evr.log file (in 'C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log')

Hi Owlsroost,

I tested v68 quickly. As far as a 20mins test can tell: It is working perfectly!!! No problems introduced or much different results than last version.

Nice information about the codecs being displayed. Thank you for adding this function to it. Now I can be sure things are working as I planned them, without exiting MP or running MP in windowed mode with graphedit. Perfect!

Anyone tried playing a DVD? I tried one of my Friends DVD's with DXVA via the Windows DTV Decoder and it causes crashing within Media Portal but didn't completely kill Media Portal. I think if I let it play it was fine, but pausing and playing it would screw up.

Logs I can provide at a later date.

So i tried playing THIS sample and i get the following results with version 68




Since i am not really familiar with EVR, is it normal that Act FPS is at 29 xxxx? Since the video sample is interlaced VC-1 shouldn't it have been something around 59 xxxx?

I am using DXVA and deinterlacing settings are set correctly @ CCC.

Strange thing is that the same sample does produce 59 xxxx fps when played @ MPC HC.
