It would be very nice if he could MP Audio Renderer on the button with the remote to switch audio output device and the mode bitstream or stereo.

Ok, I tried versions 55b and 69. Both give me similar results. I watched a movie and switched between the two. Both gave me about 8-9 dropped frames per half hour.

Do you need logs?

Since i am not really familiar with EVR, is it normal that Act FPS is at 29 xxxx? Since the video sample is interlaced VC-1 shouldn't it have been something around 59 xxxx?

I am using DXVA and deinterlacing settings are set correctly @ CCC.

Strange thing is that the same sample does produce 59 xxxx fps when played @ MPC HC.

Aren't you using Windows XP? EVR is always in software mode in XP and most likely that is causing the deinterlace not to work properly.

For Windows XP please use VMR9 (and there is no reason to use teh specia dshowhelper.dll builds since those aren't having any changes on VMR9 code).

This is not on my Windows XP pc, this issue occurs on my Windows 7 pc :(

P.S.2 Ignore my forum system details as the issue occurs on my ATI pc.

So i tried playing THIS sample and i get the following results with version 68

    Following are the video characteristics:

    Video
    ID : 4113 (0x1011)
    Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
    Format : VC-1
    Format profile : AP@L3
    Duration : 9s 876ms
    Width : 1 920 pixels
    Height : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio : 16:9
    Frame rate : 29.970 fps
    Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
    Bit depth : 8 bits
    Scan type : Interlaced
Scan order : Top Field First

    Any ideas?

P.S. Got the same results with v 55.

What you are seeing is quite common - the video is flagged in the stream headers as 60i but it's actually encoded as 30p - the 'Detd FPS' value is calculated in real time from the incoming video stream sample timestamps and it's approx. 30 fps in this case (as expected with 30p video).

The 'Act FPS' value is calculated from the rate that samples are 'presented' for display, which is the same rate as 'Detd FPS' normally (but can be lower if there are performance problems causing dropped frames).

If the video was really 60i with hardware de-interlacing, 'Detd FPS' would show approx. 60 fps instead.

Looks like the PS3 gets DVD duty until the bug is fixed :)

I can provide logs if ya need em ;)

Patience - good things come to those who wait....;)

v0069 attached (with MS DTV-DVD decoder bug fixes).

    Tony

This version requires 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package' to be installed.

If you are using the MP AudioRenderer you must use the modified version from this post - https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/707555-post675.html - otherwise MP will crash...

That was quick! I will test it over the weekend. I'm not in a hurry by any means. Who watches DVDs anymore? :D

    Hi Owlsroost,

Yesterday I found a weird issue in my system with v69. I dont know for sure if it is caused by the dll, or if it is still present after a reboot. The bug does keep popping up after multiple MP restarts.
What I saw was, I couldnt select a different video codec than "ffdshow video". No matter if I selected the MS or PDVD codec. This is with the low res codec. shift1 shows ffdshow video codec being used.
Can you check if this is also the case with you? Might be a codec error/corruption on my system. Using SAF5 from 14-02-2011.

When I get home, I will do some more testing about this. I didnt have a good oppertunity for that yet

    PS
WHen playing dvd and using ms codec the image is perfect! :)
