    Hi Owlsroost,

What's the general plan for the new dshowhelper? Is it something the team aim for 1.2.0? I've been using v0020 for some time and it's been brilliant, solved all the little glitches I had with HD. Will try v0037 as I like to be up to date :)

The main development thrust recently has been adding the support for the new MP audio renderer (the dshowhelper controls the audio speed changing in the renderer).

No-one has proposed incorporating it into 1.2.0 (as far as I know), but I think that with over 300 downloads of v0020 that version at least has been reasonably well tested by the community.

I don't see why it wouldn't be part of the 1.2.0. Testing has been more than enough and the results are good (there might be few new issues, like the ones found lately with DVD menus, but those are quite marginal cases where the possible new issues could appear).

    Hi Owlsroost

With version v0020 and v0037 I still face a lot of frame drops on TV for MPEG2 and H.264 channels. The longer the movie is played the more often I got frame drops. With the standard MP 1.1 dshowhelper I get almost no drops at all.

I have included the logs and some screen shots. Any guess what could be the issue with my configuration?

Does this only happen with live TV ?

If this is the case, try pausing it at the start/after each channel change for a second or two and see if it helps.

    Hi Owlroost

Thanks for the support. If I play the same channel as a recording there are no frame drops and the line indication the act FPS is a smooth without any peaks.
Stopping the video for a few seconds does not help a lot. The regular drops stop, but still a lot of frame drops occur, until it starts again to drop in that interval.

    Hi Owlsroost

I did a bios update and reset yesterday and it seems that the issue with the frame drops it solved or at least much better, but I need more testing. I guess it was caused by an interrupt conflict of my two TV-cards.

Sorry for wasting your time.

    Hirscho,

the issue will happen again unless you disable the thumbnail creator (or you can choose to accept the problem). If you comapre the times of the framedrops from evr.log and the errors with the thumbnail creator in mediaportal.log you'll find a match. What has happened after the bios update is that the recordings are now blacklisted and no thumbnails will be created for them (the bios update didn't actually solve the problem).

Given that the problem won't happen very often and normally just after you start MP so it may not be an issue for you at all.

Is it possible to modify the key to get the OSD?

    Normally it ist: SHIFT+1
Is it possible to map it to just the Button 1 or to # ...

Cause Girder is not possible to use SHIFT commands... :(
