Based on the feedback so far, I think the delay compensation in v0057 is causing more problems than it solves, so I plan to remove it in the next version (I seem to be getting occasional pauses/stutters with v0057 on my system).

If reporting 'accurate' measured rates to the audio renderer code is causing a problem, I could add back the 'find best match to allowed refresh rates' code - any thoughts ?

(Actually, the new refresh rate estimator is probably accurate enough to differentiate between 23.976Hz and 24.000Hz - a 0.1% difference, so the 'best match' code might work better than it used to).

Yes, from audio quality point of view it would be better to "lie" the real refresh rate to audio renderer when it is close enough (needs to be studied a bit) to the media file's fps. Maybe something like 0.01 or 0.05 would be enough close.

More code would be needed for this as the bias in the AudioRenderer is corrected based on the number and direction of the adjustments requested by the EVR Presenter so, currently the lie will be found out .

Nope, using ffdshow audio (SAF5 - PDVD for TV with ffdshow audio), with a 190ms delay, outputing over spdif into my receiver.

Hi Owlsroost,

here my small simple feedback for the new dshowhelpers.

v56 was very fine and provides me a good result. I can´t see any lineups in rendertime from ca 4 - 15.
v57 also provides this result, but if i have a spike in all 3 lines ( unknown where it comes from ) i notice that it counted not only 1 or 2 dropped frames, but rather 30 dropped frames. But not really noticeable in watching TV. So maybe it´s a counting error ?

Setup Multiseat Server / Client i3 with Sparkle GT430 / no MepoAudiorender

So but in short. Both dll´s are providing me a better feeling with live TV as the original 1.2.0 Alpha dll.

Attached is dshowhelper v0058 for trials

This has the DWM delay compensation removed, and the number of DWM buffers reduced to 3 (was 4 in v0056/v0057) to minimise the added video delay. I've also fixed an issue in the refesh rate estimator (it was producing the correct results, but taking longer than it should to run sometimes).

I'm hoping that v0058 will help the people who are getting A/V sync issues with v0057.

To all the nVidia GT430 users - is anyone seeing occasional pauses/stutters that don't show up in the render stats screen ? It looks like something is dropping frames after the dshowhelper, and I don't remember seeing this with my old 9500GT....

I suspect it may be - there are people complaining about video stuttering problems on the nVidia forums with the recent drivers - see MKV stutter with GTX 480 and newer drivers - NVIDIA Forums
