Hello, I've just installed the latest version of MP and TV on a fresh windows XP install. After install, it loads up very slowly - what I mean is the graphics render very slow. Clicking a menu item takes ages and I hear the "click" before anything happens on screen. If I go into TV and TV starts to play then MP seems to recover and behave as normal. However once I shut down the TV or a video it revers back to a resolution of 800x600.

At the moment, I use 1280 x 720 to match my resolution but no video is shown at this resolution, just audi!

    Log attached below.

    Help greatly appreciated!!

If you use PDVD8 for Video and possibly FFDShow for audio, does it work then, nvidia has not been worked on for over 18 months, so not as good as PDVD8.
    Or try the ATI codecs.

Paranoid Delusion, thanks for the response! I'll try your suggestions later. What is weird is that if I lower the resolution to match my monitor (1024 x 768), i.e. not my projector's resolution it seems to behave fine, and video is there, even when it the vidoe goes into the small viewing box!

The skin loads and plays fine in that resolution. Once I go back to 1280 x 720 it goes slow again, i.e. the screen takes a while to load and the navigation is slow.

Is it because the AEON Wide skin is set for a higher resolution than the one my Projector is set up for? Its when using that resolution that it also reverts to 800 x 600 when stopping a video. Its fine at the monitor resolution!

    Thanks for any assistance

Quick update - I fiddled with the 3D settings on Catalyst control centre last night (don't know why, just did!). I ticked almost all the boxes, tried that and MP seemed to load and run perfectly!! I have force TV button checked in CCC as well, but it diverted back to 800 x 600 on one occasion, not every!

Does MP need any specific video 3D settings set?

    Cheers

Final update - fixed!! I needed to add the resolutions to the TV Display Manager so that it wouldn't keep going back to 800 x 60 when a movie stopped. works fine for now, the odd crash excepted!!

Please mark as fixed and close thread
