MP2 Alpha 2 PreRelase Questions (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone.

I have some questions regarding MP2 Alpha 2:
1. Some Series are imported without any informations (e.g. "The Simpsons" - in German it's "Die Simpsons"). Other ones are correctly imported. For some the Images are not imported. (See attached logs). How can I fix this? Is there any "Manual" editing like in Mp TV-Series?
2. Are there any plans for a classic home in Titanium Skin? The WAF is much higher for this Version.
3. Loading of Sections with imported things isn't the fastest (actually it's much slower than in MP1). I already switched to SQLite - but it's still the same. Is just my Server to slow (AMD e-350) or is this normal if a lot of things are inside the database?
4. Can I somehow Switch Default views? For example I would prefer a grouping by season inside of series.

Sorry for the late answer - lots of things going on in real live...
Ad 3 what do you mean with "loading of sections" is too slow? Do you mean the process of importing a share or when you want to navigate in the MP2 GUI?

the Import process is ok - but Navigation in the gui is realls slow - e.g. opening the series section takes round about 20 seconds.

This is not ready jet, but will be done in near future.

No. MP2 did not have any type of "Basic Home" or "Classic Home". This was confusing lots of people in past as this isn't common on any other MediaCenter software. With MP2 There only is "Home" like all others have... But if you use e.g. Reflexion (maybe with a different Background possibly a Video Background) this looks lot more like "Classic Home" on most MP1 skins...

This is not ready jet, but has highest priority on "Todo list"

I can confirm this. With lots of Media the first opening of a view takes a while. All thumbnails, all Data has to be loaded from Database over Network. This will take a while and you can't do anything against it. Especially if there are shown unnecessarily much items as it is now. This will be better a lot if 4. is fixed...

Thanks for the informations - one Thing about Speed - is there any Caching planed? I'm using MP1 with a central Database and thumbs Folder - this is working really fine and only the first time opening (on a new Client) is a Little bit slower - but still much faster compared to mp1.

Regarding the performance:

Please try a list view (not the grid view), it should be much faster. List are using a VirtualizedStackpanel which only needs resources for visible items. In contrast the grid view uses a WrapPanel which does not have virtualization.

So we need to implement a VirtualizingWrapPanel control and can vastly improve performance.

Ah - thanks - with a list view the Performance is definately better But now I have another issue - no more Images are displayed (except of the "preview" one) - so series Banners and things like that are missing. If I watch on the Server I can find the files. I have attached my Server/Client logs.

What kind of build do you use? You have a SQLDEBUG.LOG included, which is not created in RELEASE builds (only DEBUG). So are you using the official Alpha2 (PreRelease)?
